Harmoneus helps you comply with international regulations on chemical hazard communication

As a supplier of chemicals, you need to comply with international regulations on chemical hazard communication. You want to do this correctly, not just to be seen to comply but also to ensure the safety of your customers and to present a professional image. Harmoneus advises you on the international classification and labelling requirements for your chemical products, and recommends safety data sheet contents, in accordance with:

  • GHS – the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals;
  • ADR – the European agreement on transport of dangerous goods consistent with the United Nations Recommendations of the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Model Regulations, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code), the Regulations Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID), and related International Air Transport Association (IATA) Regulations;
  • CLP – the European implementation of GHS;
  • REACH – the European regulations on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals;
  • German environmental hazard classification.

Harmoneus makes it easy to produce a correct classification

Harmoneus bases its recommendations for a preparation on the properties of the preparation itself where that is appropriate. If data are not available for the preparation itself, the regulations allow you to calculate health and environmental hazard classification for a preparation on the basis of information about its ingredients. The procedures for doing this, especially under GHS, are complicated and time-consuming. Harmoneus does the calculations for you and gives you the right advice.

Harmoneus saves you time and effort

You can set up a database of the ingredients you use frequently in your products so that you do not need to enter information about them each time you run Harmoneus. The ingredients may be single substances but they can themselves be mixtures. The advice on classification and labelling exported from Harmoneus to Prometheus is not limited to sections 14 and 15 of safety data sheets. Harmoneus generates advice on other relevant sections and Prometheus uses the information to create a draft data sheet.
