SafeTEXT helps your company fulfil the “materials safety data sheet” requirement
When you supply a chemical product to a customer who will use it in a workplace you must provide a safety data sheet (termed a “materials safety data sheet” in many countries).
SafeTEXT provides you with convenient flexibility for entering data and distributing your data sheets
SafeTEXT is a safety data sheet (SDS) management system. You select phrases from a standard set to build SDS. SafeTEXT can then provide automatic translations into other languages. You are not restricted to using the phrases supplied as standard with SafeTEXT – you can add your own phrases or we can get translations and add phrases for you. You can set up customer lists and monitor safety data sheet despatch so that, for example, you can be sure to issue upgrades to the right people if you modify a data sheet.
SafeTEXT gives you many options to produce data sheets in a variety of formats that satisfies all users
SafeTEXT can print the SDS, or write them to pdf files, in your preferred fonts and in one or two column pages. SafeTEXT can despatch SDS as pdf files directly to your email outbox, attached to covering email messages, for delivery to customers. You can export the pdf files automatically to the directory you use to support your website or a company document management system. It is also possible to import SDS into SafeTEXT from other sources as pdf files so that their delivery to customers can be managed alongside SDS created by SafeTEXT.
SafeTEXT gives you the choice to customise the safety data sheets by language, to suit destination, and using different graphics images
As well as creating SDS in different languages, SafeTEXT allows you to create and maintain SDS that are different for different territories – for example you may want to include or exclude certain data in French SDS for France but not for Canada, or you may want to use different supplier addresses and logos for different subsidiaries. There are many options relating to the style and layout of SDS. For example, you can replace the graphics for hazard symbols etc with your own; you can specify the font and font size to be used for each language separately; you can print logos, and groups of logos, in a variety of locations.
SafeTEXT saves you time and effort
You can set up a database of constituents that you use in more than one product so that you do not need to re-enter the details about them each time you create a SDS. Automated functions for translation between languages and territories allow you to develop and maintain sets of SDS from a single master and to create and export pdf files of all of them with one button click.
SafeTEXT lets you set different access levels to your safety data sheets for different users
You can put the SafeTEXT database on a file server on a computer network, allowing different users to access the one version. Access to SafeTEXT is password controlled and you can set different access levels for different users (e.g. some might be allowed only to print and view SDS while others might be allowed to edit draft versions and only one or two senior staff might be allowed to approve SDS for release).
Once you have approved a SDS it is protected from further changes. If you seek to edit it, SafeTEXT will offer to create a new version. While the new version remains as a draft, only the approved version is available for despatch to customers. When you approve the draft version, it becomes the new current version but the old one is retained as an archive.
