Harmoneus helps you comply with international regulations on chemical hazard communication.
As a supplier of chemicals, you need to comply with international regulations on chemical hazard communication. You want to do this correctly, not just to be seen to comply but also to ensure the safety of your customers and to present a professional image. Harmoneus advises you on the international classification and labelling requirements for your chemical products, and recommends safety data sheet contents, in accordance with:
- GHS – the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals;
- ADR – the European agreement on transport of dangerous goods consistent with the United Nations Recommendations of the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Model Regulations, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code), and the Regulations Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID);
- CHIP – the European Chemicals (Hazard Information and Packaging) Regulations;
- REACH – the European regulations on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals.
- Advice on classification for transport also includes recommended Cefic Tremcard™ numbers.
Harmoneus makes it very easy to produce a correct classification
Harmoneus bases its recommendations for a preparation on the properties of the preparation itself where that is appropriate. Alternatively, GHS and CHIP allow you to calculate health and environmental hazard classification for a preparation on the basis of information about its ingredients if data are not available for the preparation itself. The procedures for doing this, especially under GHS, are complicated and time-consuming. Harmoneus does the calculations for you and gives you the right advice.
Harmoneus Professional saves you time and effort
With Harmoneus Professional, you can set up a database of the ingredients you use frequently in your products so that you do not need to enter information about them each time you run Harmoneus. The ingredients may be single substances but they can themselves be mixtures. The advice on classification and labelling provided by Harmoneus Standard relates to sections 14 and 15 of safety data sheets. Harmoneus Professional additionally generates advice on other sections and it presents its recommendations in safety data sheet format. The recommendations can be exported automatically to SafeTEXT to create a draft data sheet or to ascii or html files for transfer to other systems.
